bowtie software package provides ultrafast memory-efficient short read aligner, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install bowtie
bowtie is installed in your system.
Make ensure the bowtie package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep bowtie *
You will get with bowtie package name, version, architecture and description in a table
